On to a makeover of another kind....thanks to a long weekend, Alex and I went through her room, getting rid of gobs of trash and various "stuff" no longer needed in her bedroom. Last week, after being inspired to build, I made Alex a padded headboard using materials I already had, with the exception of the fabric covered buttons for about $7. It was worth it. :)
I also made her this art thingy to go over her headboard that I have been dreaming up for a while now, but hadn't gotten around to doing. I painted some trays that I got at the thrift store and nailed them to a 2x4 that is anchored to the studs. I think it turned out pretty good, considering the $0 investment.
Now I am noticing what I should've done differently, oh well, and I still need to touch up the nails, oops! :)
Now if I could just tackle this....
this...
and this!
Please tell me I am not alone in this! You have clutter too, right?

Now that Matt and I are moving, I didn't realize how much junk we have. So no, you are not alone.
Um, I think you saw my clutter. And Alex's room looks totally cute! I love the plates!! And I must know how you did the headboard, it looks great.
You know you're not alone! You've seen my sewing room and my desk.
Wow! I'm so very impressed. Perhaps you should have a career on HGTV? That room looks amazing. I came over from Jessica's blog, btw. She's giving me the scoop on all the fun blogs to hang out on!
gorgeous headboard!
I believe you very much do have a possible job on HGTV! Considering you watch it a bunch! :p
Charity - I LOVED seeing pictures of my darling "Great" neices and nephews! I can't believe how much they have grown up. To think that Alex is 16 just blows my mind. What a fun mom you are to have these neat b-day's and then to make the cool things for Alex's room. And YES, we all have junk around - so don't feel alone. Keep up the good work my dear. Love ya
