Alex was so excited to get all gussied up for the Old Hollywood dance for the youth on Wednesday night. Weeks ago, we started talking about ideas for a dress, make-up, hair....We check the thrift store first. We have had a lot of luck there in the past. Alex finds a beautiful strapless dress for $8, but its strapless. So we get a pattern for the bolero jacket which I made for her and I made some roses to put on the dress to tie in the color of the jacket.
The night before I straightened her hair because that alone takes an hour. Then I researched Audrey Hepburn hairstyles and make-up. Can I say, what did we ever do without Youtube tutorials?! I love that! So the night of the dance I do her hair and her make-up and then I stood back and couldn't believe my little girl looked like a woman. After I dropped her off, I thought of how I might be helping her get ready for other special occasions, proms...then someday a wedding and I feel this overwhelming love for her and sadness at the same time. Where has the time gone? I don't know, but she has become a beautiful young lady and I feel blessed.

Beautiful. Hope she had a good time.
She looks amazing! I love the bolero and the hair. My girls liked that dance so much more than the homecoming.
Beautiful.
I love your many talents, Charity.
