Been a long time...

Where does the time go? I thought I'd post a few pics to show what I have been up to.

As some of you may know, I started a quilt for Samantha a LONG time ago, piecing it about 2-3 years ago, put the blocks together last August or September and foolishly made the decision to hand quilt each square. Never again, I tell you! Somehow during this process, Samantha got the mistaken idea that I "promised" to have the quilt done before the baby comes. Now, I may have said my goal would be to get it done before the bay comes, but I'm not one to reach my goals! Come on, I would never promise something that I wasn't totally confident I could pull off! But it doesn't matter because she thinks I promised, so now if it's not done, I may scar her for life...again.

So...I have 57 squares left to quilt out of 216. Yeah! That's only about 1/4 of the quilt left! Can I get a woohoo?!

I am also almost done with the tree mural in the baby's room. It has all been painted, but now just needs a few more coats in some spots so as not to see the blue paint through it. However, I am not such a perfectionist that I can't live with that if time gets short, but ideally that will get done also.
I have also been working on sewing the bedding for the baby. I have made 3 crib sheets, and have cut out the fabric and made the ties for the bumper pads. The bumper pads will have solid blue on one side, with polka dots on the other side, and striped cording along the edge. I am hoping to finish the bumper pads today and at least cut out the bedskirt, if not finish that also.

So...although I have been away, I have been productive, somewhat.

I am ready to take a sledge hammer to my DVR and the dish network! they both have it out for me...not anyone else in the house...just me! Last week the recording of Idol was shotty, then on the night of Idol Gives Back, just after the opening from Ryan Seacrest, "This is Idol Gives Back!" my screen turned blue with a message something like this..."This channel is experiencing technical difficulties. Please do not call us, we are aware of the problem and will fix it as soon as possible." Well, ASAP to them apparently means that I taped 2 1/2 hours of that blue screen with that message and it stayed on the Fox channel for 2 days. Thank goodness for friends who also DVR American Idol and let me come over and watch it! So this week, I plan to watch it live, so as not to get a shotty taping, and I will ask Alex to promptly poke my eyes out if the screen goes blue again. Don't they know not to mess with a prego woman?!

Serenity NOW!

Ha! Charity---you amaze me! The room is going to be darling. Such a terrifically creative girl certainly deserves a smooth Idol taping tonight. I'm sending good vibes your way...(and for David Cook and Archuleta---I'm still in mourning over Michael Johns getting kicked off :(

SO in love with the tree!
You're making the bedding? Are you serious? But of course you are.
And a hand-sewn quilt?
Ummm...I did two loads of laundry without complaining. Can I get a holla?
