For Christmas, I requested nice stationary. I realized I should be more specific next time. I usually stay away from things with teddy bears on them. So I debated using them. In the end, I decided it is worse not to send a thank you card, than to send one that I feel does not reflect my taste. So I had the girls write their thank you's first and, shucks, I ran out of said thank you cards. But it's not the picture on the front that matters, it's the words inside, right?...so if you get a thank you from us, just know that we love you.
Does anyone else have this problem?

I think it's more offensive to get a rude one. I don't particularly expect a thank you card, but they are nice. No matter what is on them.
Haha! I am a little weird about the ones I send, too.
Oh...and I agree that getting one is always welcome, regardless of the design. I kind of feel that way about anything handwritten....so little of my mail is that way anymore, I crave it.
Your dilemma made me laugh. It's very you. I will admit, that I have left awful stationary rot while I came up with something a little more me.
Haha, I know I've had this inner dialog before!
I usually donate anything I think is really ugly, but letting the kids use it first was pretty genius. :)
You clever gal... or should I say ...you generous mom letting your precious children write their notes first, giggle!
I love cards, and I SO analyze them both for the inside AND outside, shallow, judging a 'card' by its cover, horrible, but the truth. I want to send more notecards to people in 2011... I am not naturally good at sending handwritten thankyous/notes but I do a jig whenever I receive one!
Hysterical! Sadly enough, I completely relate.
