ILLNESS has left the building!

6 days...
6 nights...
Fever...Chills...Aches...Pain...
1000's of mgs of Tylenol...
5+ gallons of apple juice, cranberry juice, orange juice, and ginger ale...
2 visits to the doctor (one to my OB/ one to my Primary Care)...
One vial of blood... Various tests...
One shot of antibiotics in the upper right butt cheek...
One Z-pack...one Rx for steroids....One inhaler...
2 much-needed nights of my husband's almost-undivided attention and care...
And now... the steady thump-thump of a safe and healthy baby in the womb...PRICELESS!
Ode to Joy!

If next year anyone hears me say I am not getting a flu shot, please promptly tear off my arm and beat me over the head with it while repeating "Remember last year!" over and over again!

For the record...due to the huge target that seems to be painted on whatever thing I express gratitude for verbally (namely my health mentioned several times out loud over the last 2 weeks), I will be keeping these feelings to myself. Let it be known that I have several things I am not grateful for, and many more that I am, but ya'll will just have to guess, because my "Opposition-o-meter" is registering way of the charts lately.

But I cannot post without acknowledging that a certain man, who is near and dear to me, but will remain un-named due to pending target-painting threats, has gone above and beyond the call of duty these past few days. He not only rearranged and delegated his commitments for 2 nights in a row caring for his sickly woman, but fed everyone, did dishes and laundry, all in an effort to lessen my burden during and after this sickness. Praise To the MAN! But alas, I must let him return to his duties of helping others...and await the day I have all to myself again!

PS- Not to be out-done...Here's a shout-out to the loving and capable "nurses" that also helped greatly to care for me!

I am so glad you're finally on the mend! This flu kicked our booties so hard...please also feel free to beat me soundly with any appendage if you also hear me poo-poo the flu shot.

Glad to see you up and about! You've done your sick time so you should be good for the next couple of months, right? Nice play list by the way, surprised to see Mary J. Blige on there =0) (whom I actually like on occasion). You should make that your ring tone and then send Alex to YW with it.

Reading all the posts about the Flu that went around I will have to say I am glad, for whatever reason, that we had the lesser of it. It struck our home as well, but only for a weekend. I guess I must be grateful for whole foods and natural remedies... namely Charcoal!
Glad to hear things are better. It is not fun being sick, especially when prego!! I can attest to that!!!
